With the abundant blessings and grace of Sri Guruji, the Hanuman Chalisa class is an outreach initiative by GOD Toronto entering into the 2nd year. Hanuman Chalisa program was a humble initiative started in 2023 to teach Hanuman Chalisa sloka with the aim of introducing the message of Mahamantra nama and various initiatives of the GOD organization to kids and youth outside of the satsang.

Encouraged by the positive outcomes in 2023, the registrations for 2024 year opened up in January and the team was overwhelmed with the staggering number of registrations, more than 120 kids, within weeks. The program was online over zoom and was opened to kids of all ages to ensure maximum reach of Nama, resulting in a wide diversity of age groups ranging from as young as 14 months to as old as college age students registering for the program.

The Hanuman Chalisa admin team worked meticulously to organize the classes and setting up of virtual infrastructure to deliver the lessons. Volunteers (adults and kids) from GOD Canada served as teachers for the program and an orientation session was set up for the registered participants to walk through the format and expectations of the program.

The classes commenced in the first week of February, for 4 days each week and ended in May.

Each class started with Mahamantra Nama and Prayer slokas followed by the kids being placed in their assigned breakout rooms to learn the Hanuman Chalisa slokas and their meanings. Kids chanted the Nama upon entering the breakout room and at the end of each session. Teachers taught the slokas in an engaging and interactive approach tailored as per the kids age and interest in their respective classes, with suitable activities. Kids enjoyed the sessions and learned the slokas enthusiastically with support from their parents.

The flagship Gopakuteeram Program of GOD was also introduced to the families explaining the various aspects and outlining the benefits of a religious education rooted in values of Sanatana Dharma. The program wrapped up with games of Jeopardy/Kahoot that were based on the Hanuman Chalisa and Srimad Ramayanam which was a fun way to wrap up the semester.

Overall the program was well received by the kids and their families as seen from the heart-warming feedback from the parents.

Prayers at the Lotus Feet of Sri G to bless GOD Canada with more such initiatives in the coming years.

Radhe Radhe.
